Hookah enthusiasts comprehend the value of charcoal for hookah smoking. There is a myriad of coal choices available for smokers to choose from. However, being spoilt for choice is not always the best thing. With so many varieties of charcoal forhookah available in the market, it can get a bit confusing especially for the beginners. Hookah coals are generally available in two different categories. The first is quick light and the second is natural coal. First let us have a look at the quick light charcoal. As the name suggests, this kind of coal is very easy to light. It can be effortlessly ignited with a simple lighter. It is made of compressed coal dust and consists of a catalyst (sulfur) that accelerates the ignition process. Some of the most commonly used quick light hookah coals are golden quick light coal, Three Kings quick light coal and Silver Flint Coal.  

On the other hand Natural charcoal consumes time before lighting up completely. Romman Lemonwood and Coco Nara are two of the most popular natural charcoals. Therefore, to select the best charcoal for hookah, it is important to gain knowledge and experience about both kinds of coals available.
